HAROLD HERMAN Obituary
HAROLD HERMAN (Age 98)
Passed away at his home in Darlington, MD, January 4, 2017. Born in Washington, DC, son of Moses and Margaret Ann (Gerlach) Herman. He graduated in 1940 from the University of Maryland with a degree in electrical engineering. He ran a successful Thoroughbred breeding operation, Red Oak Farm, Poolesville, MD, which relocated to Darlington in 1979. He launched and led several veterinary supply businesses. He was founder and President of Vet Surgical Resources. Survived by his wife, Edith V. Herman; sons, Joseph V. and Mark Herman; daughter, Margaret McBryde, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service was previously held. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, 10 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
