Every now and then we become lucky enough to meet a person that impact us in a positive way. Harold was one of those special people that I was fortunate to have in my life. From the first time I met Harold as my neighbor, I had a friend who always helped me with valuable advise. He reminded me so much of my own father who I loved very much. He always called me son and I loved him very much as he was truly a friend.

What can I say? I knew him all my life and I always looked to him and my father for advise and guidance. I tried to follow their lead as how to have a good and prosperous life. I got my last piece of advice from Uncle Harold a week or so ago.

Harold was my friend for 70 years since E.V. Brown Elementary School. Everyone dies. But not everyone lives. No one knew how to live, and help others live as did he. His descendants are the proof.

Harold was easily one of the most knowledgeable people in the oriental rug community. He was very generous with his knowledge; I learned so much from him especially when he lectured at the Textile Museum.
