He is survived by one daughter Laverne Horton; one step-brother Tyrone Smith; one step-sister Katherine Royal; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing Monday, July 19, 6 to 8 p.m. at HORTON & REESE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 600 Kennedy St. NW. Also on Tuesday, July 20, 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. at Mount Jezrell Baptist Church, 420 East University Blvd., Silver Spring, MD. Dr. Eldridge Spearman, Pastor. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by HORTON & REESE.

Laverne, I send you my deepest condolence for the passing on of your Dad. I know how close you were to him, especially after your Mother's passing. Just dwell on the good times, and know that earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. I will keep you in my prayers.

I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO LAVERNE AND THE REST OF THE HORTON FAMILY. HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE NOW. HE HAS WENT HOME TO HIS WIFE AND OTHERS. BE STRONG LAVERNE BECAUSE HE IS NOW HOME. WE ARE HERE JUST TEMPORARILY UNTIL IT'S OUR TIME TO GO HOME TO OUR FATHER. HARRY WAS LIKE A FATHER TO ME AND GRAND FATHER TO MY DAUGHTER. HE IS TRULY MISSED AND LOVED...IF YOU NEED ANYTHING WE ARE ONLY A CALL AWAY. LOVE YOU ALWAYS, JENNIFER AND KRISSY TALIAFERRO
