Harry Huniak Obituary

Harry Anthony Huniak, age 72, of Kensington, MD passed away on September 21, 2025. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a four month battle with kidney failure. He was a warrior and never complained. A printer by trade, he was the owner of Dietle's Tavern for 20 years. He lived his entire life in the house his parents bought in Kensington. Tony was the son of the late Jennie C. (Maschi) and Harry J. Huniak. He was also preceded in death by his brother Michael John Huniak. He is survived by his special friend Janet Ashley, his lifetime friend Don Crichton and close friends Mark Sutch, Angelo Zageglo and Gary Clark. He is also survived by his cousins Charles R. Wing, Sr., John D. Wing, Nick Huniak and several other relatives in Virginia and Illinois. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD 20814. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 630 E St. SW, Washington, DC 20024. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
