Harry J. Singleton

Harry J. Singleton departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, after a private battle with cancer. Born on January 18, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Fred Singleton and Beatrice McBryant Singleton, Harry attended Hope High School and served as a United States Air Force sergeant. Afterward, he had a distinguished career working as a program manager for the United States Department of Defense and the White House. Harry spent his retired life enjoying the peace and quiet of Indian Head, Maryland, walking the Indian Head trail, fishing, bicycling, cooking, and rooting for the Washington Commanders. Preceded in death by his daughter Ebony Singleton and former wife, Gladys G. Singleton, he leaves behind his daughter Sonja Singleton and two grandsons, Jamel Sowell and Marcus Johnson, Jr. He also leaves behind two sisters, Eleanor Singleton and Margaret O'Connor, and two brothers, Frederick Singleton and Edward Singleton. The family will receive friends at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD, on July 29, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., followed by service at 1 p.m. After the service, burial will take place at Cheltenham Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
