HELEN HOLMES GODDARD (Age 100)  
Helen Holmes Goddard went to her Heavenly Father on December 18, 2013 after complications from a broken hip. Helen was born on February 20, 1913 in St. Mary's County, MD to James Walter Norris and Annie Elizabeth Raley. Helen was raised in Resurrection Manor, the second oldest house in Maryland, then moved to Clinton, MD around 1940. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Jesse Goddard and Frank W. Holmes and two daughters, Patrice Holmes and Diane Fitzgerald. She is survived by her children, Gloria Shadduck, Shirley Sausnock, Frank Holmes, Philip Holmes, Carolyn Webb; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. Relatives and friends may call at the LEE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd., Clinton, MD 20735 on Thursday, December 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, MD. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
