Henry Wise Obituary
Henry Wise (Age 89)
Henry Moses Wise, Jr., M.D., died on October 19, 2018 in the comfort of his Bethesda, MD, home and surrounded by his loving family. Dr. Wise was a prominent urologist in the Washington area, was attending staff at Holy Cross Hospital, Suburban Hospital, and the Adventist Hospital, where he was Chief of Surgery. Dr. Wise is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Gamins Wise, with whom he shared 57 years of love and laughter; Alfred Wise and Hillary Miller-Wise; Susan and Ken Weinstein; and Deborah and Damian Wise. His seven grandchildren include Jonah, Tali and Noah Weinstein, Boden and Asher Wise; and Quinley and Charlotte Wise. Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 11 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St. N.W. Washington, DC with interment to follow at Garden of Remembrance Cemetery, Clarksburg, MD. Shiva will be on Monday and Tuesday at the Wise residence with a shiva minyan at 7 p.m. each night. Dr. Wise was my urologist for many, many years. I loved his sense of humor and continual reassurance whenever I had an appointment. Dr. Wise performed surgery that gave me a better quality of life. I have missed him and remember him with much affection.

Even though I only saw him at tax time, it was always a treat when Dr. and Mrs. Wise came to the office. He will be missed, may he rest in peace.

Running a close second behind my father, Henry Moses Wise was one of the finest men I have ever met. As well as working for Dr. Wise for twelve years and knowing him for forty-two, he was a mentor, a man of compassion, love, humor and in later years, a trusted friend. So many lovely, everlasting memories in my heart.

Dear family of Dr. Wise, my heart is broken to hear of this amazing man's passing. He was my doctor for many years. I treasured his advice and compassion. May he be inscribed in the Book of Life and may he find eternal rest is the arms of our Heavenly Father.
