I met Hank in 1984 and joined him at his offices with Dexter Kohn at 1619 New Hampshire Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. near Dupont Circle. I worked for him and Dexter part-time while building my own practice. Their offices were in a old fashioned, high-ceilinged three story townhouse each with its own fireplace. Must have been an very upscale private residence back in the late 1800's which was my guess for its age. Hank was great. Generous, kind, funny. I learned a lot from him. He and Dexter had to sell that wonderful townhouse due to a co-owner with them who had substantial financial troubles that required a sale to bring him money. Hank and Dexter then rented the 3rd floor of a large building on Dupont Circle in 1993. I went off and opened my own law office elsewhere. But Hank and I stayed close friends through the years. I last talked to him a year before his death, and we made unspecified plans to have lunch together. Neither one of use ever completed those plans thinking we had all the time in the world. I then called him a couple of month after his death not knowing he had passed. When the number didn't go through, I suspected that he was gone. I was able to contact his son, Mark, who confirmed it ... after which Mark and I and our wives had lunch together. I had always thought Hank was indestructible. One lasting memory of his generosity: He paid my ticket and hotel cost to the Dutch/French Carribean Island of Saint Marten, where the DC Bar was having an annual convention. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the place. I couldn't believe such generosity on his part to pay for all that. I shall miss him and never forget my dear friend.

Dear Jeff and Marc:

You may recall me from years ago. We spoke briefly on occasion. I worked with your Dad from 1984 1993 in his offices at 1619 New Hampshire Ave., N.W. near Dupont Circle. He was always kind, generous and helpful. We remained friends since then, but I admit we only had sporadic contact. Even so, I shall miss not being able to speak to him once more. The last time we spoke by phone and also followed up by email was in September, 2021. He told me that your mother had predeceased him, as did his longtime law partner, Dexter Kohn. I tried telephoning him today, June 19, 2023, but found that the phone was disconnected. That's when I guessed he had passed away. Very sorry to lose my old friend. Please feel free to contact me at (301) 646-6207 .. or at my email address at [email protected]. // Rick Frucci

I have known Hank for decades as he was the uncle of my stepfather Jim. I admired him as he was a very wise man of many accomplishments.

His words always reflected much intellect and thought. He was a very distinguished gentleman with a charming disposition.

There were so many intriguing and fascinating stories that were shared at Hank's funeral service today. He had such a positive and noticeable impact on the lives of many.

My condolences to the Schlosberg family and friends during this difficult time. May God give you peace.

I met Hank over 40 years ago when I was a young lawyer just starting out. What struck me early on about Hank and what I admired about him was that he so enjoyed being a lawyer and practiced law with such enthusiasm and a unique charm and humor that caused him to be respected by all, including his most ardent adversaries in the defense bar.
What I also admired about him was that his clients just adored him. He fought like hell for them and they greatly appreciated it by returning again and again whenever they needed a lawyer.
When I started my own practice, Hank took me under his wing and became my mentor, advisor, collaborator and friend.
I will always cherish my memories of Hank as he was truly one of a kind.
The world will be a sadder place without him.

Hank was the best a Cousin, a good friend and a great lawyer. We go back many years and during my years as a State Senator he was a strong supporter. Hank will be missed by all who knew and loved him and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
