Hughes Redcross Obituary
REDCROSS HUGHES ALLEN REDCROSS (Age 93) Peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2010, at the Friends Nursing Home in Sandy Spring, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Marian Cain-Hayden of Silver Spring, MD; the devoted grandmother of Vernita Cain (deceased), Marilyn Cain Gordon, Esq., Stella Carole Cain of Silver Spring, MD, and Lori Cain of Washington, DC; and great-grandmother of Brittani Gordon and Robert Gordon II of Silver Spring, MD. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. During her life, Hughes was a devoted member of the Missionary Society and Circle Ministry of the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, member of Mecca Court #2, Daughters of Isis; Thornton Court # 3, H of J.P.H.A; Redemption Chapter #14 O.E.S.P.H.A; and Richard Howell Gleaves Assembly #2 O.G.C.P.H.A. The visitation will be held at McGUIRE FUNERAL HOME, 7400 Georgia Ave., N.W., Washington, DC on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 11 a.m., Services at 12 noon, Pastor, Dr. Derrick Harkins, officiating. Interment will take place at the Allen Family Cemetery, White Marsh, VA, on October 15, 2010, Rev. Frederick R. Carter officiating. Services by Carter Funeral Home, Newport News, Virginia.
