BLAKE ILENE MILLS BLAKE Ilene Mills Blake of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Thursday April 23, 2015, at the age of 82, while under Hospice care. She was born on August 31, 1932, in Kegley, West Virginia to Ile and Okley Mills. She was predeceased by her husband Warren Porter Blake in 1997. She is survived by her sons, Ile Wayne Blake and wife Cathy and Edward Dean Blake and wife Laura all of Sterling, Virginia; grandchildren, Tanya, Wendi, Mendi, Katie and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Marissa, Isabel, Elizabeth, Tayler, Brooklynn, Alyssa, Tays, Kelley and Madison; her brothers, John Wallace "JW" and wife Beverly, Billy and wife Mable, Stanley and wife Martha; and her sister, Shelva and husband John and numerous nieces and nephews. Ilene was known to those who loved her as a loving wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ilene graduated from George Washington University and worked in the Arlington Library system until taking a job with Fairfax County Government. She retired in 1989 from Fairfax County Government where she was the Director of Management and Budget for many years. She was the founder of Blake School and Childcare Center, Sterling, VA and co-founder of Clairmont School and Childcare Center, Montclair, VA. She was included in Who's Who of American Business Women. She was considered a creative and innovative business woman by her peers. Ilene had an adventurous and fearless spirit and she loved to travel with her family and to spent time with them in her Ashburn and Lake Anna homes. A viewing will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. In addition, a viewing from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon, will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 also at Adams Green. Family will receive friends at the Loudoun Elks Lodge in Sterling, Virginia immediately after the funeral service. Burial will take place at the Reid Family Cemetery in Spanishburg, West Virginia May 16, 2015.
