Mrs. Taylor and her husband were dear friends with my parents -- Lawrenceville, Virginia and St. Paul's College were the common denominator. And of course Angie and I grew up together with the common thread of Metropolitan Baptist between all of us.
Mrs. Taylor was also a dedicated soror of Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. My mother sponsored her into the sorority, and she, E.E. Bernice Mills and Queen kept things going as dedicated members and volunteers! I can just imagine the reunion in heaven! :)
She was another mother to so many of us. If you hadn't had her sweet potato biscuits, you've never eaten! A fashion plate with hats to spare, and a smile and welcoming spirit beyond compare -- that's how we'll fondly remember her.
While our hearts are sad, we rejoice that she is reunited with her Louis and Angela. Our sympathy is extended to her family and friends.
