Irene J. Macklin
On Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Beloved wife of the late Herman Macklin, Sr; devoted mother of Richard Gaskins, Herman Macklin and the late Lisa Gaskins. She is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The Family will receive friends at Third Baptist Church, 917 Princess St, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon. Rev James Jordan, Pastor. Interment in Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements by Greene Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA.

May Christ Jesus anoint and bless the Family of Sister Macklin during this time of bereavement. It was a blessing having known this lovely lady in our lives and attend church services with her at Third Baptist Church for nearly 3 yrs. She will live on in our hearts and we will remember the great times we had with her in Christ Jesus.

Richard & Jay, my heartfelt sympathy to you and the family. To me, yall's mom, Ms. Irene, was a one of a kind famous lady; the most down to earth, and HIPPEST mom in the Berg! I just loved-loved-loved her so much, and I'm glad she heard me tell her that time after time, and I knew she loved me so much too! Ms. Irene, I will truly miss you. I won't say goodbye, but, see you later - on the other side of glory. RIP.
