Rev. Dr. ISAAC ALSTON Pastor, Bright Light Baptist Church
On Monday, July 9, 2012. Beloved father of Marie, Isaac, Carole, Gerald (Cornita), Reneé and Francesca; devoted grandfather of Monique (Scott), Princess, Marcus, Claus, Claudia, Ivana and Sharvonta; loving great-grandfather of Aaron, Gabrielle and Julian. Also survived by Bright Light Baptist Church family and a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Alston will lie in state on Monday, July 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bright Light Baptist Church, 7300 New Hampshire Ave., Takoma Park, MD. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17 from 9 a.m. until Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 8801 Ardwick-Ardmore Rd., Landover, MD. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park. Arrangements by FREEMAN FUNERAL SERVICES.

Each time I heard you preach I always left church learning something new about the goodness of God. I can only say that my family and I will be praying for the family. I beleive that Rev. These are the words which remain in my heart, some 12 years since my departure from Bright Light Baptist Church; Pastor Alston, I still love you for all that you poured into my life. You were my FIRST Pastor in the metro-DC area and you still are. To the Isaac family, my Bright Light Baptist Church Family, I thank God for His grace and peace which rests upon you during this time of bereavement as we remember and celebrate the life of one of God's greatest servants who is and shall always be renowned for producing great preachers for the kingdom of God. Glory to God and to God be all the glory, honor and praise In Jesus Name and So be It. We thank you Father for blessing us with such a marvelous and dedicated gift to us. Oh precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Amen.
