IVAN ASHLEY Obituary
IVAN R. ASHLEY
On Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Inez Ashley; one son Ronald Ashley (Cheryl); two daughters Janet Ashley and Alison Givens (Darryle); five grandchildren Rasheed, Chanel, Darryle, Angelle and Daniel; and a host of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held in Boston, Massachusetts at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Black Child Development Institution, 1101 15th Street NW, Suite 900, Washington, DC 20005.

I was so sorry to learn of Ivan's death. I worked with him at OEO/CSA in Boston. he was a bright, creative public servant. He also made the work fun.

I met Ivan in 1973 when he was with the Community Services Administration and I was a CAP Director in Lynn, Massachusetts. Later, I was a member of his staff in Boston. He was a firm, intelligent focussed man, universally respected for those qualities...and a pretty good tennis player at that time. After he moved to USAID I lost track but I'm sure he continued to add value to any organization and to his friends and family. Condolences to all. I hope to attend his memorial service if notified at
