My family met Todd in 2000 at the National AJAO conference in 2000. In 2001 & 2003, we joined him on our trip to Capitol Hill to advocate for more funding for Arthritis Research. He was a friend to all of us, but especially to my daughter Maria, who liked Todd has JRA. Todd was an adult who understood her pain because he experienced it. We will truly miss him - his energy and his smile.

I consider myself so very fortunate to have met Todd at AJAO in Seattle, and again at Gimpfest DC. I'll never forget the scooter races - NOBODY could go faster, because nobody was as completely fearless. "I'll miss you" sounds so trite. But I will. Todd made this world a better place for being here.

Our deepest sympathies to our friend's family. Todd was such fun to meet when he came to the Washington, DC Gimpfest, which my husband and I hosted. He was so proud of his wheel chair. Goodbye, Todd, now you don't need that chair.

I met Todd at the DC Gimpfest. He was so proud of his new chair that year -- joking that it would do 0-60, then throwing back his head and laughing.
Well Todd my man, you have no need of that chair now. You are free of it and free of pain. You will be missed.

Todd,
You were unaware that you had a presence in my life because we have never met. I had the great privilege of experiencing your beauty through the special relationship you shared with Scherrone Dunhamn and y’all circle of friends. Allow me to explain.
My name is Juanita and I am the Personal Assistant to Scherrone at her place of business. Working closely with her in various duties has allowed me to know each of the persons in y’all circle by e-mail address, geographical location, profession, entertainment, joys, and pains. Even at this very moment, I share with your circle their great pain.
To the Family and Friends, I Pray for your strength and comfort.
I know the Spirit of the Man,Todd.

Todd, I will miss you and I suspect you will be missed by many. Your humor and wit are one of a kind. It’s hard to find a friend who can joke about disability and make light of others’ disability. I always thought I had almost endless days with my friends and family. The song, “I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain” by James Taylor comes to mind, “I always thought I would see you one more time again”.
Our group will definitely be different without you. I wish I would have gotten us together more to joke, have fun, and shoot the breeze. Today I saw an email from you dated June. It was inviting us to a poker party. You canceled for some reason and didn’t reschedule.
I loved doing stuff with you because I knew that it would be a guarantee that I will laugh and have a good time with you. Who will fill that spot now? Your voice will always be with me, Brother in Christ and Brother in disability.
