I have been retired for nearly 30 years and I still recall with fondness the positive impact that Larry O´Brate had on my life and my career. I would never achieved as much without his positive influence!
Thank you Larry

Since 1962 I have had a fondness for Larry. He called me from Kansas City when I lived in Richmond, VA and offered me a job with USDA as a grain inspector. Later, he was instrumental in my being transferred to the headquarters office in the Washington, D.C. area. He was a true friend and I respected him as a friend and co-worker.

I only met Grandpa Larry through phone conversations and Kerry's stories. Seeing all the memories he left behind, one needs no words to understand the love he felt for Bethel and his family as well as the passion he felt for life.

I met Larry in Enid, Okla. before he joined the Grain Division, USDA. Some years later,he transferred to the field office in Kansas city. After his transfer, I began my career in Enid.Eventually we both were transferred to Washington, D.C. We both Purchased homes in Bowie, MD and were neighbors for many years. He was a great guy and a leader. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Larry was a special friend to me. He first hired me to work for the Grain Division in Kansas City, Missouri. He was later instrumental in getting me transferred to the Washington, D.C. area. He also helped get me interested in Eastern Buebirds and gave me an autographed book written by Dr. Lawrence Zeleny. I will miss Larry.
