JACK RUBENSTEIN Obituary


Jack Rubenstein  (Age 86)  
Formerly of Potomac, MD passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019 at his home in Boca Raton, FL. Jack was born on September 8, 1932 to Esther and Samuel Rubenstein of Brooklyn, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marvin, and grandson, Devon. Jack met the love of his life, Betty, when he served in the Army. They married in 1954 and moved to Maryland in 1966. Jack was a 2nd generation bagel baker and introduced bagels to the D.C. metro area after he opened Bagel Master and Bagel Dens. In 1989, Jack retired and moved to Paradise (Boca Raton) where he played golf and volunteered for many worthy local charities Jack is survived by his wife, Betty, his much loved children, Robert (Erica), Mitchell (Elizabeth), Steven, and Cathy Rubenstein Weil, grandchildren, Delaney, Alexander, Gregory, and Andrew Rubenstein, Jordan, Kyle and Jenna Weil, Kaelin Emery, and Michael Gargin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A private burial service will be held on January 27. Donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
