Jack was my mentor, friend and boss at Riggs Bank and the news of his passing are sad and heartbreaking. I will always remember him fondly and although we have not seen each other for many years he has always been and will remain present in my heart and mind. To Maria and "the girls" I offer my heartfelt condolences. Luis Monteiro D´Aguiar

I met Mr Gilbert in my nursing profession. He was such a kind man. When he spoke you couldn't help but be drawn in. I always tried to engage in conversation with all my patients but he was one of a kind. I left the practice in 2015 and when I did I often thought of certain patients that impacted me. He truly was one of those people. I wanted to come to his service today but at the last minute I had to pick my son up from the airport. I so wanted to talk and give my condolences to Maria. I knew her as well in my profession but in reading today's on line obituaries I read she had left us as well. My condolences to the Gilbert family. I loved your parents. One so easy going, the other just so alive and exuberant. Prayers to all.
