Jacqueline Kent Cooke Obituary

Jacqueline Kent Cooke, daughter of Suzanne Elizabeth Cooke and her late father, Jack Kent Cooke, passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of 36. Born on January 25, 1988, in Washington, DC, Jacqueline lived a vibrant and adventurous life.

Jacqueline graduated from Marymount University, with high honors in design. Jacqueline was a trendsetter with a keen eye for fashion, had a big heart, creative mind full of refreshing ideas, was inspired by the beauty of nature, and the many interesting people she met on her journeys both near and far.

Jacqueline's passion for exploring new cultures took her to all seven continents and the seven wonders of the world. She found particular solace at the Hotel Esencia, her favorite place on earth, on the Mexican Riviera, a place that embodied her spirit and love for blending tradition with modern living.

Following in her father's footsteps, Jacqueline shared his love for horses and football. Some of her fondest memories were of watching races at the Kentucky Derby and cheering for the Redskins in the stadium her father built. Though she lost her father at a young age, their bond remained a defining aspect of her life. Jack Kent Cooke's influence was evident in Jacqueline's determination, wit, and love for life.

Jacqueline is survived by her mother, Suzanne Elizabeth Cooke, who was not only her parent but also her best friend and travel companion. Their close relationship was a source of strength and joy.

Those who knew Jacqueline well would recall her mesmerizing blue eyes, big bright smile, charm, elegance, brilliant mind, quick wit, love for animals, including her beloved dog Winston, passion for reading, film, and travel adventures.

At Jacqueline's request no services will be held. She will be buried next to her father.

I just learned of Jacqueline’s heartbreaking passing. We only were in each other’s lives for freshman year of high school at Foxcroft and did not stay in touch when I switched schools. I've thought of her over the years, especially recently. About 2 or so years ago, I particularly felt it on my heart that I would really like to find a way to reach out to her. Without social media, that would take a bit of creative thinking, and I regret that I put a pin in figuring out how to accomplish that instead of acting more urgently. It was only in picking back up on that sentiment that I learned of her passing. I wish I didn’t drop the ball and found a way to reconnect with her, especially because I know she received far more scrutiny in life than she ever deserved, and I would’ve loved to have tried to counter that unfairness in some way. My deepest hope for her is that she has found peace.

My sincere condolences and prayers are with you Suzanne. It is difficult to lose a parent. I cannot imagine what it is to bury a daughter.
May Jackie find the peace she lacked in this life in the next. RIP.

There are no words to express how deeply saddened I am with Jaqueline´s passing. I saw Jaqueline develop from the age of 14 into adulthood.

She was a beautiful, smart, elegant and vivacious young lady. We shared many wonderful moments together along with her beloved, Winston. Her zest for life, curiosity and culture connected us in numerous travel adventures. I will remember you forever. You will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace!

I'm so sorry to learn this sad news. You were sweet and kind in a world that often didn't reciprocate and was too quick to judge without the facts. I'm grateful we got to share some lovely moments.
