Jacques Gelin Obituary

Jacques "Jack" Gelin, 92, died from complications of cancer on November 10, 2024. Born on June 9, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, Jack graduated from Harvard College and Columbia Law School. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret; his sister Lia Poorvu (William); his daughters Beth Rosenthal (Steven), Deborah, and
Rachel Breinin (Bart), his son David (Leigh); his grandchildren Joshua, Amy, Alexander and Caroline, and his three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Martha.

He spent the majority of his career at the Justice Department, working in the Appellate Section of the Lands and Natural Resources Division.

A memorial service will be held at Ingleside at King Farm in Rockville on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 10 a.m.
