I have great memories of Senator Broyhill and my grandfather, Cecil Miller during the times they were working together on political campaigns. He was always very kind to me and my family, welcoming us to Washington and taking to time to show us around the area. He truly was a man of integrity.
Ed and family, please know that you will be in our prayers.

Met Jim back in 1975 who was a friend of my Father's. Over the years following, I came to know him personnally and can only say I wish that there were many more like him in todays Congress, a True Man with Honor, Vision, Conviction, and true Gentleman.
He will be missed.

Louise, Ed, Marilyn and family:
My dad, Donald Bingham, was Jim's Davie County chair in the '60's, when he first ran for the US House. My parents thought so much of both of yours. Daddy always admired Jim's respect and self-restraint in politics. Jim was known as a gentleman, when that wasn't so unusual. We send you our prayers for comfort in the loss of a wonderful man.

Unfortunately, as we say in Spanish currently, "We accompany you in sadness for the loss of your grandfather, who has left us as he has risen to the arms of the Grand Architect of life in heaven."

I had the pleasure of meeting him in person many years ago and will never forget his awesome presence, as a statesman and a true gentleman. Please share this with all the members of his family and our sympathies, reminding them, that they are not alone in their grief as we send them our condolences.
