JAMES ANDERSON JOY  CAPT, USN (Ret.)  
James A. Joy, 79, a retired Navy Captain and Naval Aviator, a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam conflict and a resident of Arlington, Virginia died November 8, 2010 in Virginia Hospital Center of advanced idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.He was a native of Seattle, Washington, attended the University of Washington and was a graduate of George Washington University.He was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Arlington, a long time volunteer at the Virginia Hospital Center, and an enthusiastic participant in golf activities at Washington Golf & Country Club.Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, the former Bettie Rawls Proctor of Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Margaret Rochford of Arlington Heights, IL and Jane Morrison (Gregg) of Arlington, VA, five grandchildren, Colin and Andy Rochford, Rachel, Anna and Lacey Morrison; a sister, Margaret Habegger of Seattle, a brother, Douglas Joy of Mesa, AZ, and their respective families.A service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, November 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Arlington. Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on February 2, 2011 at 3 p.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4250 N.
