JAMES MacDONALD Obituary
JAMES B. MacDONALD
James B. MacDonald, 71, passed away on October 23, 2021 at his home in Alexandria. Known as Buff to family and friends, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Hussey MacDonald, his son, James B. MacDonald IV (Mac), 27. And sister-in-law, Kay MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Jewell, and a brother, John. Having grown up in North Carolina, Buff retained a lifelong love of his home state, following his beloved Tar Heels with great passion. He graduated from UNC in 1973, and played on the Tar Heels Freshman basketball team under the legendary coach Dean Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Presbyterian Meeting House - opmh.org and First Tee -firstteedc.org. Services held at Old Presbyterian Meeting House, November 3 at 2 p.m.

Dear Susan and Mac,
I just learned that Jim (as we family members called him) died last Oct. I am so sorry. We grew up together, three cousins (Jim, Brad and me) born the same summer. I carry truly fond memories of Jim, John, Uncle James and Aunt Jewell. The last time I saw Jim was at Aunt Jewell's funeral. Sorry to have lost touch. My heartfelt condolences to you!!
