James A. Miller III

James Austin Miller III died peacefully at his home on March 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. Jim was born on May 5, 1945 to James Austin Miller Jr. and Bertha Larrick in Lakeland, Florida. He was raised in the New York City suburb of Flushing, Queens where he met his wife of 58 years, Mary T. Cornetta. He is survived by Mary, their five children Laurel Miller, Jimmy Miller, Joseph Miller, Nicholas Miller, and Elizabeth Howe, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and his sister Linda Mitchell. Jim was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He cared deeply about his community and volunteered as a coach and in leadership positions for the Alexandria Little League Baseball and the Alexandria Soccer Association for many years. The family will be holding a celebration of life service at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA on May 5 at 10 a.m.
