James Morgan Jr.

Entered peacefully into eternity on Wednesday October 1, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Y. Morgan; loving children, Tyrone, James and Latoria Jenifer; devoted stepchildren, Shameka Jenkins and Charles "Poppa" Clemons IV; siblings, Lorenzo Morgan, Brenda Hawkins, Velma Morgan and Mary Morgan; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother -in-law, Carol D. Powell; sisters in -law, Karen (Michael) Pelham, Lauren Johnson and Carole Powell; a brother-in-law, Charles Powell; host of other relatives including a dear cousin, Henry Cooper; and cherished and devoted friends, David Brown and Johnny Bryant.

Mr. Morgan was born in Enfield, NC, and graduated from the local high school. Following graduation, he moved to the Washington, DC area, where he resided for 40 plus years. A devoted and hardworking individual, he served as a correctional officer in the District of Columbia Correctional Facility. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring others, hard work, generosity and unforgettable Spirit. He was passionate about football, and his favorite team was the Washington Commanders.

On Friday October 17, 2025, visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Chapel of S. Jones Funeral Home, 115 S. Dennis Street, Enfield, NC 27823 and on Saturday October 18, 2025, at 2 p.m., funeral service will be held at Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 15831 US -301, Enfield, NC. Interment will be in the church's cemetery. Local arrangements entrusted to the Stewart Funeral Home.
