Died August 26, 2005, succumbing to ovarian cancer. She was born on March 1, 1957 in Baltimore, MD. Jane was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School, Boston, MA and the University of Maryland. As a professional, she worked in Washington, DC for the National Geographic Society; on Capitol Hill in the Bristol-Meyers lobbying office; and at Sallie Mae financial services for student loan marketing. In 1994, she moved with her husband Russell from Maryland to Cary, NC.
Surviving are her husband of 18 years, Russell Fleury and son, Justin Fleury of Cary; stepson, Brian Fluery of Fairfield, CT; mother, Annette Bernstein Offen of Kensington, MD; brother, D. Scott Offen of Kensington, MD; brother, Dr. M. Louis Offen and his wife, Laura of Rockville, MD; and nieces, Alexis Offen of New York City and Suzanne Offen of Rockville, MD; in Baltimore, uncle and aunt Gerald and Helene Bernstein; and cousins, Sandy and Richard Bernstein, also of Baltimore.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. J. Allan Offen.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 28 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Raleigh, NC. Interment immediately followed ar Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane's honor may be made to Ravenscroft School, Development Center, 7409 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.
The family will receive condolence calls Sunday, September 11, 2005, 2 p.m. at the home of Louis and Laura Offen.
