For all of you who remember Jason there is an Obituary in the St Augustine Record just google Jason P. Short St. Augustine Fl. He was a unique individual. Generous, kind and thoughtful. When his mother became ill and we knew she would not recover he and his brother Josh supported me and helped me with her loss although they were suffering also. I miss him every day.

I met Jason when we were very young (maybe 5) when he moved in across the street. We quickly became best friends. I lost touch with him when I went off to college and other adventures. I did run into him once at Roundtree Park while bicycling. It was a quick but touching reunion. I had lost weight and he had gained some and we both laughed at the circumstances.
I still tell my wife and son about him and our many adventures. I was deeply saddened when I found out about his passing recently. Him and Josh were like little brothers to me.
My heart goes out to the entire family.
Al, if you can, please contact me.
God Bless you all.

Jason I've been in touch with Lana. I'm hoping we can get together soon and trade stories about your influence on our lives. There is a poem titled "We Remember Them" and the last lines go something like this. As long as I live they shall live also for they are a part of me. I love you son.

May 13th passed, your 50th birthday. I remember when you told me on my fiftieth birthday I was a half century old. I wished we could have celebrated you half a century birthday. I still miss you.

Six years later and I'm finally starting to understand why the Lord brought you home when he did. Still feels like a lifetime ago when we were trying to figure out how Chalkboard Charlie was going to figure out the next classroom mystery. When I was little it didn't really hit me that you were gone and not coming back... I'm 19 now, in my second year of college and it's hitting me now more than ever. There are definitely things that I wish we could've done before, and everyday I wonder where you, mom, and I would be if we just had a little more time, or if you were even still here. I am beyond blessed to be able to even speak the words father when it comes to you and know that every step I take, decision I make, and work I produce is to make you proud of the little girl you brought into this world. I ask that you and the Lord continue to send down your blessings especially now. I love and miss you every second of everyday. Oh, I joined the gospel choir at school!! The feeling that I get from doing something that I love and worshipping God is just indescribable...

Hi Son. It's been another year without you. Josh is not doing very well and probably won't be long before he will be joining you. Your aunt Mary Lou who loved you dearly is not in the best of health either. But she is a fighter. I love you son and wish I could hug you one more time. Your loving father. I miss your "Hey Dad"

Jason and I became fast friends as soon as I moved onto Westlawn Drive. There is barely a memory of my childhood without him in it. He was always kind and knew everything there was to know about baseball, sports in general, and music. We jammed out together to Jethro Tull, Ozzy, and Black Sabath. Jason is still the one I think of whenever someone asks me who my best friend was growing up. I miss my friend and my heart breaks for his father and brother.

Jason was a dear and true friend back in High School. We shared many great times listening to music and having deep discussions on the meaning of life. He was an amazing man who always had my back - truly one of the good guys. I love you, my friend.

Jason was like a son to me and he gave me great joy: He found God early in life and walked the talk.
He told me I was different and he understood why when he accepted Jesus.
I pray peace and strength for Lucille
Lana, and God's mercy and love for my brother Palmer and his other son Josh at this difficult time.
