Jean Barnes Obituary
JEAN IRIS BARNES
Jean Iris Barnes, 91, passed away on March 13, 2022, in the arms of her husband at home in Silver Spring, MD. Born in Lewes, Sussex, England, to Doris and Kenneth Noel, Jean trained as a nurse and worked as a midwife in London, as a nurse in England, Canada and Bermuda, and as a school nurse in Maryland. Beloved wife of William Barnes for 65 years, she was the loving mother of Kevin (Mary), Steven (Jan), Diane and Patrick (Karen); a grandmother of nine, a great-grandmother, and the beloved sister of Keith Noel in Canada and Peter Noel in England. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., May 21, at Liberty Grove UMC, 15225 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the church or to a medical charity.
