Jean I. Hess (age 76)  
Of Broad Run, VA, peacefully on September 13, 2015. She moved extensively around the world and retired from the U.S. government in January 2004. Jean enjoyed playing piano, cooking gourmet meals, decorating the house, shopping for everyone in the family and doing the Washington Post crossword every week. She was the loving wife of 57 years to Roger Hess and the devoted mother of four wonderful children, Rhonda Hess, who preceded her in death, Michele Hess Reed (husband, David) of Orlando, FL, Nicole Hess Grayson (husband, Joseph) of Stephens City, VA and Jonathan Hess of Phoenix, AZ. Jean was the doting grandmother of Mark Reed, Jason Reed and Jessica Grayson and the cherished sister of Ann Checkley of Middlebury, IN, Janet Moyer of Union, MI, Gunnar Erickson of Union, MI and John Erickson of Elkhart, IN. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA where services will be held on Friday, September 18 at 11 a.m. Interment Warrenton Cemetery.
