Jennifer Sara Murray (Age 73)
Passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jennifer was born in Portland, Oregon to her parents, Col. Robert L. Haines and Grace Haines on July 29, 1947. Jennifer moved to Shreveport, LA where she lived for 23 years and started her family. During her lifetime, she truly lived life to the fullest, raising her children, working numerous jobs and became a police officer for the Shreveport Police Department for six years. After raising her children Jennifer returned to the Washington DC Metro area in 1988 and went to work for Vance International in executive protection from 1988-1994, there she met her husband Anthony S. (Tony) Murray. Jennifer worked as the Administrative Assistant at the Almas Shrine Center in Washington, DC for 25 years assisting the organization and its goal of helping children with orthopedic and burn treatment care they needed. Together Jennifer and Tony dedicated their time traveling and supporting the Shriner's organization. She enjoyed traveling, working and spending time with her family. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Anthony S. Murray, two children, Theresa (Teri) DeSadier (Rick), Roscoe Thomas DeSadier III (Amber), her siblings, Christine Sellers (Mike), Bob Haines, Becky Haines (Joe), Stacy Sipes (Mike). Also survived by her seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. Jennifer's celebration of life will be held on July 17, at 2 p.m. at the Almas Shrine Center, 1315 K. St, NW, Washington DC 20005.
