JIMMY DWIGHT CRANK, SR.
On Wednesday, July 18, 2007. Loving husband of Doreen Crank; devoted father of Jimmy Jr. Ashley and Janae; beloved son of Rosa Hudson. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Justin; his grandmother, Margie Foote; a host of other relatives and friends. On Thursday, July 26, friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1100 North Capitol St., N.W. Send condolences to:

It's hard trying to find the right words when a love one has crossed over, but, let God guide you as you come to terms with the loss of your love one. God will give you the strength and vision to see beyond the grief of this life to the glory of the next. Jimmy was a positive influence in my life and a friend who will be deeply missed.

To Doreen and Family -- This is your cousin Robin. I just found out about Jimmy. My daughter and I were driving back from South Carolina when my son called and told us did we know about Jimmy. I had to stop and get myself together. Jimmy was one of my best cousins. I could talk to him about anything. He would come to help me whenever I needed him too. I lived with Jimmy and my other cousins in my Aunt Margie's house. We would sleep 5 and 6 deep in a bed. We had a lot of fun together. I just cannot believe that he is gone. I really feel bad because I had been thinking about him and had intended on calling him and never got around to doing it. But I know, he knows that I loved him and he is definitely in a better place. Doreen, I love you and if there is anything I can do, if only to just talk just give me a call. I love you all and will be by to see you.

Hey family this is one of Jimmy good friend Alleyne, office mate at MPD. Crank was definitely a special individual. We had some good times at work and off work. Like brothers, that's what he told everyone. He may be gone from this world but, his memories lives on. I want the family to stay encourage and with all things God will bring you through this. My prays go out to each and everyone of you. I was deeply sadden and hurt to hear of Jimmy's departure from this life.
My family and I have known Jimmy since elementary school. He was always a good friend and I had been looking forward for some catch up time during our 30th High School class reunion this September.
He will be deeply missed!!!

To the family of Jimmy Crank I send my very deepest sympathy. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I am a Wilson classmate of Jimmy's from the class of '77. He was such a great person in school. I'm on the reunion committee and I had just sent him an e-mail on the Friday before his passing telling him to get on the reunion web site and register. I'm so sorry that we won't have him there in person but we will certainly have him there in spirit. I was so looking forward to seeing him again. I pray that God touches and blesses each of you as you go through this very diffcult time.

My deepest condolences pour out to you all at this time of bereavment. I am still in so much shock of Uncle Bobo's passing. I just spoke with him a month ago about him recruiting me to the MPD.
