BODY

JOHN JOSEPH BODY III 03/17/1955 – 02/19/2022

On February 19, 2022, John Joseph Body, III of Warrenton, VA passed away suddenly. He was born at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD to Jack and Janet Body, and was raised in Washington, DC. For the last 25 years, he made his home in Warrenton, VA with his wife, Meg Freeman Body.

John is survived by his wife, Meg and their loving canine companion, Maggie; his father, Jack Body; his daughter, Jordan Body Storey (Tim); his stepsons, Brandon Peck (Chelsea), Marshall Peck (Katrina); his sisters, Judy Callahan (Mike), Jane Roussil (Larry), and Jan Golden (Brian); his sister-in-law, Roni Freeman (Vince) and brother-in-law, Bill Freeman. His memory will be cherished by his four grandchildren: Henry, Dylan, Isaac and Aubrey, as well as many nieces, nephews and best friends, including Ranse and Evon Munley, Harry Criswell (Laura), Steve Papp (Pam), Steve Donohoe (Denise) and the entire Donohoe Construction family. John was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Body.

John attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School, where he met many of his lifelong friends, DeMatha High School and Wesley College. After graduation he started his career with distinguished construction companies throughout the DC area. In 2000, he began his career with Donohoe Construction Company that would last till his passing.

Alongside his 20+ years with Donohoe where he held the title of Senior Superintendent and managed some of the most complex and difficult projects in the Washington, DC area, he was passionate about his role as a mentor within Donohoe and passed along his legacy to interns starting their careers in the construction industry.

John loved cars, Single Barrel, cigars, Budweiser, motorcycles, boating and eating crabs, glamping in their RV with family and friends, good music, and had a profound and genuine love for his family and friends. He was bigger than life, and took great joy in life's small pleasures, including his ability to make anyone laugh. He will always be a voice in our ear and a beat in our hearts.

A gathering will be held to celebrate the life of John on March 12, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at O'Brien's Irish Pub, 380 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA 20186.
