Dear Family,
No expression of sympathy-no matter how deeply felt-can help much right now, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Wolfie will always be known for doing more for others than he ever received in return. Many that were fortunate to know him would call him a 4:00am friend. Surely there is a need for him in heaven and we were lucky to have him pass our way on earth.

Dear Family ,
Both my wife , Lisa , and I were deeply saddened to hear that John had passed away. We went to high school with John in our hell raising Northern Virginia days. John was truly a stand up guy , and would come to the aid of his friends at the drop of a hat. we will truly miss him.

Bowen Family -
I was very sorry and shocked to hear that John had passed away. I and many others in the Northern Virginia area have very fond memories of John and will always remember what a great friend he was. I had a chance to meet up with him at Chucks place over the Labor Day weekend in Lake Anna, but of course I had somethng else that needed my attention and couldn't make it. I can't tell you how sorry I am now that I was not able to see him. God bless and know that John was always a great friend to me.

Dear Family,
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I met Jackie only last year. We camp in Indian Springs reguarly. Last Summer upon arriving with a girlfriend and kids (no husband weekend) we soon found we had no water. I called a neighbor who then called Jackie to help out. Jackie did not hesitate to try everything he could think of, even to make a trip to the hardware store. Upon realizing it was a problem with the well. Jackie proceeded to make trips to the lake to fill our bathtub with water for the night. He also brought us his own water cooler with fresh water from his house for the children and ourselves. In the year that past I found Jackie to be a very kind man.
It speaks volumes about someone who would go out of their way to help others. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Bowen family:
I met Wolfie so many years ago, in the early 80s, through a mutual friend, when I worked at George's on the Street of Dreams. He rocked.
My heart shares your profound grief.

Debbie,
I am so sorry to hear of John's sudden passing. I grew up with John in Northern Virginia and was proud to consider him my friend throughout high school and my early college years. Through time we grew apart, but I had been in contact with him over the last few weeks trying to convince him to come to Virginia Beach for a group 50th birthday party. He will be missed by his friends and associates....
Sincerely,
Brien and Melissa Johnson

Dear family,
I was saddened to hear of John's death. I met John so long ago that I cant remember if it was grade school or intermediate (Glasgow). I had not spoken with John in probably 10-12 years but when we last spoke I was reminded of his great sense of humor and cutting wit. He was a real character. I'll always remember him as one of the last of the "tough guys". He never took a second of crap from anybody and was a real "stand up guy". My prayers are with you. God Bless

To Debbie and all the rest of John's family, I want to extend my deepest condolences. This is something that has simply stunned myself and other friends of John's here in northern Virginia into utter silence.
Having recently made a trip into the Adirondacks, John was gracious enough to drive the 90 miles or so in order to spend just a couple of hours with myself, my sister, and her family...and we're so glad that he did. It had been quite some time since I'd seen him, though we'd kept in touch fairly regulary via telephone. Times like this bring a flood of memories...memories of times both good and bad, of getting into trouble as well as avoiding it, of shared experiences. I can't say whether or not John got to do some of the things he wanted to do in his life, but I can say this: what he DID do...he REALLY wanted to do, and what he REALLY wanted to do was be a good husband, a good dad, and a good grand-dad.
Rest in peace, dude. I'm going to miss the calls from out of the blue featuring that unmistakable gravelly voice of yours...and thank you again for staying in touch over the years.

Debbie, I am so sorry you have lost your loving husband and partner. I didn't know him as well as some, but what I did know of him was that he was a generous, giving friend, helping any who would ask. I know that the children gave him great joy.
Please know my thoughts are with you in your time of grief. Call me anytime. Your friend, Jackie
