JOHN CROARKIN

John A. Croarkin  (Age 94)  
On Tuesday January 15, 2019 at Ingleside at King Farm in Rockville, MD. He is survived by his sons, Paul C. Croarkin (Sally) of Kensington, MD, Patrick C. Croarkin of Rockville, MD and John "Jack" C. Croarkin (Earllaine) of Rockville, MD; two siblings, Neil Croarkin of Westport, CT and Mary M. Elmore of Alexandria, VA; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Carroll Croarkin and sisters, Joann Pauley and Barbara Frawley. John was born on February 19, 1924 in Chicago, IL. The son of Paul Cornelius and Margaret Ernestine Daly Croarkin. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC and Catholic University in Washington, DC with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (1950) and a master's degree in electrical engineering (1972). He served in the U.S. army during World War II. For most of his professional career he worked at Harry Diamond Labs. After retiring from Harry Diamond Labs he worked for VSE Corp. John enjoyed tennis, golf and painting. The family will receive friends at PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Ave. (Route 28 just off I-270, exit 6-A) Rockville, MD on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Falls at Dunster Roads, Rockville, MD on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12 noon. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
