I was so saddened to hear of John's sudden death and did not hear the heartbreaking news until after the service at Sidwell. John was a student of mine at Sidwell when he was in 9th grade and I remember him well -- his cheerfulness and his humor, and his dedication to work. Deep sympathy to the whole family from my husband Bill and me

Dear Gail and Dan,
John was a student of mine when I taught at Sidwell. More than that he was a great friend of my son, Tony Silard. They both went to Berkeley after SFS. My daughter and I went to the service today, and it was hard not to cry the whole time, but also a wonderful tribute to your son, as well as your family.
We will tell Tony all about it, as he was unable to attend.
In love and compassion,
Joan (Mme. or Senora Nelson) Soncini

Deepest sympathies. John was a light in the world and a blessing to those who met him. He was instrumental in helping my niece to pursue her studies at Emerson and for that our family will be forever grateful to him.

He was an amazing patient teacher. From him, we learned many things that words can't express. He made us behave, focus more in our studies and care about our future. He will still be alive in our hearts and memories. May god bless his family and place him in heaven.
