Julia--We have been out of touch for a couple months--traveling. I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's death. I am supposing that he had been ill for some time since the donations are to go for ALS at Hopkins. My family has strong ties to Hopkins and I am sure that he got first rate care there , ALS affects the whole family so I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the privilege of serving with Commander Gluck on USS Thomas Edison In both Hawaii and Washington State. Lori and I are grateful for his leadership through the challenging (and even sometimes scary) moments of being a submarine family. He was always mindful that there were spouses and families behind the crew. His leadership taught many young people lessons that can't be learned elsewhere. Thanks for sharing him with those of us who served with him. His legacy is larger than you may know. We are so sorry for your loss. May you feel God's love.

Julia, I was so saddened to hear of John's passing. He was the stabilizer of the Ethan Allen crew when he and I served together. I will always recall it was he who pinned on my Gold Dolphins.

He is missed.

I had the pleasure of serving with Commander Gluck when the USS Thomas A Edison SSBN 610 changed its homeport from Pearl Harbor HI to Bangor WA and when the sub became USS Thomas A Edison SSN 610. I consider him my commanding officer and when I saw him at the Edison's reunion in Washington, I recognized him as a friend. Our prayers go out to his family. We will miss him

Dear Julia, it was wonderful seeing you today and meeting your wonderful family. I didn't know John that well but was honored that he played on our golf tournaments for three years here in Queenstown, MD. Dear Mrs. Gluck and Family,

I was shocked and deeply saddened to read of John's passing. I am a runner and retired Navy officer, so we had a lot in common. Over the years I would see John at local races and always enjoyed his company. A lot of our conversation involved comparing notes on our latest injuries! I will miss John's great sense of humor and easygoing personality. Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of this good and kind man.

Dear Julia and Family
When John was diagnosed with ALS we were all in shock. John carried his fate with courage, dignity grace and a witty sense of humor. Friends and family gathered around the ice bucket challenges:the Family rallied to a jogging John run in July. Julia and John were involved and supporters of the ALS research center at John Hopkins Medical Center. John was beloved by his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John,we all will miss you, including your service to Mt Vernon and your friendly wave and smile on the Mt Vernon path. Our prayers are always with you and your family.
