John worked for me in the Portfolio Management Division as part of RAM from the first day I reported to the IRS. He was a gentleman, a wonderful employee and a friend. John contributed greatly to the Spirit Committee and the Oversight Branch. We will all miss John. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and co-workers. I hope to see John again one day as well. God Bless!! Kurt Jensen

I knew John back when I worked in downtown Washington DC and after we moved to New Carrollton. He was a very soft spoken and pleasant person to talk with. He was among the taller people in the IRS that I came across, but he never spoke down to you. I spoke to him just before he left his job at New Carrollton. I thought it was fitting that he passed away on Easter. May you be at peace and rejoice in the Lord's resurrection. My sympathies and condolences to the Mierzeski family on your loss. He will be missed.

John was a quiet, soft-spoken and reserved man – yet with strong and deep commitments to his family, to his dear friends and to his Faith. And he was a special friend. A friend who brightened my day with a little angel figurine he once left at my desk; who quietly mourned with me the death of my Father when he gave me a Mass Card in memory of my dear Father; or when he reminded me the importance and the blessings of our religion when he gave me a beautiful Italian rosary as my retirement gift. Indeed, he was a special friend, with special grace. Count with my prayers, Dear John, until we meet again.

I got to know John about 4 or 5 years ago when we were a part of the Resource Allocation Management (RAM) office's Spirit Committee. The Spirit committee was formed as a social entity to plan and organize events to lift the spirit/moral of the RAM employees. I really got to know him not only as a co-worker but also as a friend. John was a very giving person and worked with the Spirit Committee in any capacity needed, such as preparing dishes, decorating, cleaning up. The committee not only enjoyed planning the events but we looked forward to just getting together and enjoying the hour we set aside each Thursday to meet to laugh and to relieve some of the stress of the workday.
John would travel to Louisville Kentucky and with my being from Kentucky, on one occasion we just happened to be on the same flight going to Louisville.
John was a good person and will be truly missed.
My condolence goes out to his wife, children, grandchildren and his family.
