John Pasley Obituary


JOHN V. PASLEY, (Age 88) "Vic"  Col. USAF (Ret.)  
On Saturday, December 25, 2010 of Springfield, VA passed from this life to his eternal home. Vic was born in Big Run, PA, March 24, 1922. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth Frances Kemper Pasley, in September 2008 and by two brothers, Gordon and Lee. He is survived by his son John K. "Jack" Pasley and his wife, Marie of San Diego, CA; his only remaining brother, Patrick E. "Pat" Pasley and his wife, Kitty of Winter Park, FL; six nieces and one nephew. Vic began his 34 year Air Force career as an aircraft mechanic at Bolling Field in 1941 and retired from the Pentagon as the deputy chief of aircraft maintenance for the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He is a veteran of WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He earned significant recognition for outstanding achievement during his long and illustrious career. He was an active member of several veteran's organizations and was a member and supporter of the charities of the Shrine, having been inducted into Shriners while serving with the Air Force in Honolulu, Hawaii. Relatives and friends may call at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr. Alexandria, VA on Wednesday, December 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. Funeral service at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel and interment with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
