My deepest sympathy goes to Larry's family. Larry was my biology teacher at Wakefield High and I in turn was his "lab" assistant during my junior year. It was Larry who encouraged my love for the medical profession. His first five children may remember me as their babysitter. Larry continued to keep in touch over the past 35+ years as I married and raised four children of my own. I will miss his yearly updates and pictures.
With loving memories,

Friends at Canada Lake will miss your gentle smile, and the lovely swish, swish of paddle moving your canoe over the lake. A special thanks to you for making Canada Lake a special part of your book.

Though I haven't seen Larry for many years, I was saddened to hear of his death. We taught today years back at Wakefield High School; I stayed on at Wakefield, and he went over to W-L so I didn't see him as often. I was at a retired teachers' meeting the day following Larry's death, as word was being passed around, and his death touched so many people who knew him over the years.

Larry: What a kind and gentle person he was. He had genuine interest in what you had to say and in so doing, made you feel like you were his only concern. Yet he had so many interests and was so capable, it was hard to believe one person could accomplish so much. We'll miss him. Rest in Peace, my friend.

My heart goes out to my cousins and family with the loss of Larry. What a wonderfully kind and good man he was. When I think of him, I remember times down in Upper Marlboro at Ma's old house. He always made a point to visit with each person - especially the children. I always felt welcomed in his presence. My prayers are with you as you grieve his loss. What a good soul he was.
