Dr. John Francis Wallerstedt, JR.  
Of Bethesda, MD, age 99, died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, September 10, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Juliette Daly Wallerstedt; devoted father of John F. III (Jinny), William M. (Maureen), Christopher E. (Corinne), and Michael D. (Laura). Loving grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 10. Born in Kansas City, MO, and was lovingly raised with his three brothers and two sisters, Dr. Wallerstedt is survived by his dear sister, Mary Ann Schwab of San Francisco, CA. Dr. Wallerstedt graduated from Rockhurst College, served as a naval officer in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and received his PhD from Georgetown University. He worked as a policy analyst in the private sector and in Federal Government for over 35 years. He then spent a long retirement focused on his family, giving and receiving the love and loyalty that defined his long life. He was an active parishioner at the Church of the Little Flower for over 50 years.  Relatives and friends may call at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD on Wednesday, September 15, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts Ave., Bethesda, on Thursday, September 16, at 10 a.m. There will be live-stream viewing of the Mass for out of town loved ones and those unable to attend here: https://facebook.com/events/s/john-wallerstedt-funeral-mass/563146445135666/.
