My thoughts are with John´s family. I didn´t have the pleasure of meeting John but I am familiar and grateful for his contributions towards improving education. His efforts will have an everlasting positive impact. Wishing the family peace, and comfort at this time of sorrow.

John's work on the Condition of Education was deeply appreciated by the education research and policy communities. John brought enthusiasm, rigor, and organizational structure to all his work. I enjoyed collaborating with him and learning from him on many projects.
