JOHNSIE M. REDD
On Sunday, November 30, 2014, Johnsie M. Redd of Bowie, MD died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. Loving mother of Joseph Stewart and Tammy Prather (Darrell), she also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Tawanna and Darrell, Jr. (Naomi); great-granddaughter, Laila; and a host of family and friends. Wake service: Monday, December 8, 6 to 8 p.m. at J.B. Jenkins Funeral Home, Landover, MD. The Celebration of Life: Tuesday, December 9 at 11 a.m., viewing at 10 a.m., Mount Victory Baptist Church, 6020 Addison Road, Seat Pleasant, MD. Interment: Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m., Redd Family Cemetery, Fieldale, VA.

Growing up on Greenlawn Dr was a lot of fun. There were a lot of single mothers who all had our best interest at heart. Ms. Redd was one of them. Ms. Redd got us around too. Who remembers that 1963 green Chevrolet? Lots of laughter and memories took place in and about it. Love Always, Sharon Long Bowie.

Joe and Tammy
So sorry for your loss. Believe me, I know your pain. I've known the two of you for quite some time. Joe, it has been awhile since we use to run the streets of Chillum Place; you, me, Ronnie, Hillist, and Steve. Those were some good times. I still talk about them to my wife Denise, also a Chillum Place product. Know this, time will heal all. Each day, it gets a little easier. Joe, great job at yesterday's sunset service. You've got a real knack. Your mom would have been very proud. God Bless you and may he keep the two of you.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I'll never forget her warm smile, her kindness and her friendly company when we were together at Charleston, SC. I know that nothing anyone can say will take away the pain of your loss!
