JONATHAN BRIN TUCKER (Age 56)
Of Washington, DC on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Loving son of Deborah (Brin) Tucker of Cambridge, MA and the late Leonard W. Tucker. Dear brother of Anne Tucker Shulman and her husband Dr. Leon Shulman of New Jersey and the late Karen Tucker. Devoted uncle of Julian and Elizabeth Shulman. Services at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, MA. Following burial, memorial observance will be at the home of Deborah Tucker until 6 p.m. and on Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Earthjustice, 426 17th Street, Oakland, CA 94612, http://earthjustice.org or Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, 1155 East 60th St., Chicago, IL 60637, www.thebulletin.org.Levine Chapels, Brookline, MA 617-277-8300

September 7, 2023: I found his book, "War of Nerves", recently, and came to the Internet today to find contact information so that I could tell him how impressed I am by his writing and the information he presented. Much to my dismay and great sadness, I have discovered this source of knowledge has left us far too soon. I feel grief on behalf of anyone who has ever known him, for I am certain he is terribly missed. If only more folk could have minds like his.

Jonathan was such a kind, selfless person. No ego at all. As a journalist, I once called him as a source, and he was also a wealth of information. I didn't know him well, but we would sometimes pass each other on the street in Washington and we would stop and chat, which doesn't always happen in this town.

Jonathan had a unique combination of intelligence, integrity, and humanity that represented the best of his personal values and view of how all people should interact. My condolences to his mom and sister. Your son/brother is someone for whom I had great respect.
