Jorge Davila Obituary

Loving family man who served 6 Presidents of the United States as a White House Butler, died Sunday,September 28, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Jorge was an immigration success story. Born in Bolivia, Jorge came to the United States at a young age with his wife, Martha Dolly, son, Christian, daughter, Y azmin, and late brother, Franz, and his family. From the moment of his arrival in the United States, Jorge worked hard to achieve the American Dream. A man with an open smile and unparalleled discretion, Jorge discovered he had a gift for work in the hospitality industry. He rose to the level of Senior Waiter and Supervisor at Ridgewell's Caterers. In that position, Jorge supervised the banquets for a number of Presidential Inauguration parties, Embassy banquets, major USPGA events, and private parties at the elegant homes of Washington's power elite. It was not unusual for Ridgewell's patrons to emphasize that a banquet "must have" Jorge as the Supervisor/Waiter. Jorge also served on a part-time basis as a waiter for a number of State Dinners at the White House. Because of this work, Jorge was offered a full-time position at the White House as a member of the White House Personal Butler Staff to the President and members of the President's family. Over the years, Jorge served 6 Presidents of the United States, from President Ronald Reagan through the first term of President Donald Trump. He inspired trust and confidence in all who worked with him. Jorge frequently marveled at how he - an immigrant from Bolivia - came to be a trusted member of the White House Staff and to know on a personal basis 6 US Presidents. Above all else, Jorge was a true "family" man. Known for giving hugs, kisses, and smiles to those he loved, Jorge was a source of constant support and encouragement to his cherished wife, Martha Dolly, beloved daughter, Yazmin, caring son, Christian, and his treasured 8 grandchildren. A memorial Mass celebrating Jorge's life will be held at the Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church, 12701 Viers Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853 on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the Church at 10 a.m. For further information please go to the Tribute page of Jorge Davila at

Jorge Davila was such an amazing person. If you were lucky enough to know him or be in his presence, you were lucky enough to hear his jokes and his stories. He was the most strong, hard working, and kind person you could meet and always made you want to be a better person because of the example that he set. He is greatly missed!
