GILLESPIE JOSEPH GILLESPIE On June, 29, 2009, Joseph Stras Gillespie, Jr., of Severna Park, MD. Beloved husband of Gale Branch Gillespie; devoted father of James Selwyn Gillespie, Ellen G. Oakes and Emily G. Clement; loving grandfather of Dustin, Joe and Elyse Purdy, Rachel, Rebecca, Olivia and Gabe Clement, Ethnie, Will and Sam Gillespie, Jeanette, Austin and Trevor Oakes. Family and Friends may visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, 1 p.m. at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be held in the Church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the GSPAA Green Hornets, P.O. Box 643, Severna Park, MD 21146 or to Woods Memorial Church Endowment Fund, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD 21146. Online Condolences may be made at: www.barrancofuneralhome.com

We will miss Joe's visits to Tazewell.We hope Gail, Jim, Amy, and others will continue the visits. We will always welcome you to the Gillespie homeplace (since 1780) in the Cove.

Joe was a true gift to our community. He was always a gentleman, gracious and humble toward all. We appreciate the time he gave to the youth of the community. Joe gave with a loving heart and generous spirit. He will be remembered always for these virtues.
