JOSEPH HALL Obituary

JOSEPH S. HALL
Joseph S. Hall of Washington, DC passed away on July 16,2021. He is pre-deceased by his partner of 48 years Bob C. Smith. Their years together were happy and joyful. He was stricken with polio at a young age, wore metal braces for most of his life, allowed NIH to study his condition but never let the burden in his life interfere with his desire for a long and fruitful life. He obtained a Masters and PHD from the University of Maryland and went on to be appointed Principal of Panorama and later Avalon Elementary School. He retired in 1985. He then lovingly restored the ancestral home on his Mothers family side built in 1795 by Jacob Shook in Clyde, NC. He will be missed by family and tons of friends whom he met at the Eastern Market on Capitol Hill where he was known as one of the "Scooter Boys". Burial in North Carolina to take place in the future.
