Joseph Rothschild "Joe" (age 90)  
Died March 26, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joe was the son of the late Louis and Sarah Rothschild. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. Joe was a proud but very humble man who had a keen sense of humor and an extremely kind nature. He was very much loved by all of his family and friends. Joe Rothschild, as a CPA, was an auditor with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for over 30 years. During his career in the federal government, Mr. Rothschild held many leadership and director positions in the OIG. He was also involved in the auditing and accounting functions within the FHA and Ginnie Mae for 20 years. Mr. Rothschild authored an award-winning AGA research study and also wrote numerous manuals on auditing techniques. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers Lawrence and Everett Rothschild. Survivors include his wife Danielle Kempf; daughter Jodi Rothschild; son David Rothschild; granddaughter Deja Rothschild; former wife Kittie Rothschild; sister-in-law Rhoda Rothschild; nieces P.J. Facciolo (Don Viohl) and Karen Zyons (David); nephew Jim Rothschild; great-niece Samie Facciolo and great-nephews, Carmen Facciolo III and Ben Zyons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, 11528 Frontage Road, Murrells Inlet, SC.
