Was a good man and great friend. He was heck of a coach and his team was always prepared I coached against Joe many times and it was always hard but it was fair. I will always remembers Joe's favorite play for his team Super PP. I miss you joe. RIP my friend.

Mr. Ruddy or "Joe The Father" as we called him lived just up Forest Rd from us in Cheverly. Our son Harrison played on multiple Boys and Girls Club teams from age 7 up to high school, and he loved participating for the town. I enjoyed assisting Joe with Boys and Girls Club tasks, and my wife loved hearing stories about "old" Cheverly as we were much newer to the town. Joe is a constant topic of admiration in our family for his work with the town, and he always had a smile, a kind word and a story that would make you laugh.

Mr. Ruddy was a constant presence in my childhood as a neighbor, family friend and dearly beloved coach. I have so many memories of running plays and hearing his whistle. He was deeply loved and will be missed.

We lived a few doors down from "Joe the Father" in Cheverly for 15 years, and he always had a smile or a funny story to tell. My son played on Cheverly Boys and Girls Club teams, and Joe would be at games watching his grandkids play or coaching (basketball,) and my son always had a great time. RIP to The Chief.
