JOYCE BATIPPS Obituary
Joyce Stanley Batipps
Passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2021. Born in Washington, DC, she was a proud graduate of McKinley Technical High School, Howard University College of Pharmacy and the DC School of Law. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory R. Batipps and brothers Donald, Rudolf, and Harold Stanley. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Batipps, siblings Paul Stanley, Jr., Dorothy Kennison, and Barbara Stanley, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, former husband Michael Batipps, MD, and many close friends whom she considered family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Gregory R. Batipps Memorial Fund via www.givecampus.comwww.mcguire-services.com

I had the pleasure of going to Law School with Joyce and, after graduation, of working with her in a political office. We worked closely in that office and had a day-to-day working relationship in which we (in my opinion) had a fun & highly productive working relationship. Joyce's work was always impressive & topnotch but most impressive (to me) was her ability to make me laugh LOUDLY with her on a day-to-day basis. She was something else. I will miss her beautiful laugh & sense of humor . . .

I worked with Joyce many years ago at Biospherics in Beltsville, Md. We were doing contract work for the National Cancer Institute. She was a wonderful colleague and someone I could go to for help when I needed to locate additional information. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
