Joyce Bermingham "Wynkoop"  
On December 6, 2021, Joyce "Wynkoop" Bermingham of Annandale, Virginia passed away peacefully with members of her family at her bedside. She was born on January 18, 1932, in Washington DC to the late Eleanor Wynkoop and Archibald Wynkoop. She was proceeded in death by her late husband Robert A. Bermingham and daughter Ann Bermingham. She is survived by her four children Michael Hilleary Bermingham (Diane Bermingham), Daniel Gregory Bermingham, Patricia Joy Williams (Steve Williams) and Robert Andrew Bermingham, Jr. (Kathleen O'Leary Bermingham); and 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.A devout Catholic, she committed her life to being a faithful and supportive wife, loving mother compassionate friend to many, and community volunteer supporting those in need. After raising her children, she committed 29 years of her life to serving the parishioners of St. Michael's Parish as the parish rectory secretary, assistant coordinator of CCD education services, English as a Second Language instructor and substitute art teacher in the parish school.Her commitment to others led her to being actively involved in the successful resettlement of Cambodian refugees into the United States. Her extraordinary efforts to support her new family in their resettlement efforts began in 1980 and was recognized by the Former Agents of the FBI Foundation for her "Dedicated Service to Humanity" in 2003. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 7041 St. Michael Lane, Annandale, VA 22003, on Thursday December 16,2021 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, Va. 22201.In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Little Sisters of the Poor or a charity of your choice.https://www.littlesistersofthepoorwashingtondc.org/donations
